Who we help

Wherever you are in the journey

We work with families across very different situations — here are the three most common.

Adult children of aging parents

You've started to notice mom or dad needs a little more help. We'll listen, ask the right questions, and help you put a plan together — without the pressure.

  • In-home assessment
  • Help understanding funding
  • Flexible, scalable visits

Recovering at home after hospital

Discharge is overwhelming. We coordinate care fast — often within 48 hours — so your loved one heals safely, with the right support at every shift.

  • Rapid start within 48 hours
  • Coordination with case managers
  • Personal care & medication reminders

Seniors who want to stay home

Most Albertans would rather age at home than move to a facility. We help make that possible — with companion care, dementia support, and overnight presence as needs evolve.

  • Companion & personal care
  • Dementia & memory care
  • Overnight & respite

Approved CDHCI provider

Care that's covered — through Alberta CDHCI

#1 Right Care is an approved CDHCI provider (Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing) — the largest source of funded home care in Alberta. If you're approved by AHS, we bill them directly. You focus on care, not paperwork. More funding options coming soon.

Your care, your way. Every #1 Right Care plan is custom-built around your family's needs — from a few hours per week to 24/7 support. No one-size-fits-all packages.

Care plans built around real lives. Caregivers chosen by hand. A team that answers the phone themselves.

Why families choose us

The difference is who picks up the phone

Big national franchises run call centres and rotating rosters. We're locally owned and run — the person who plans your care is the person you'll actually reach.

Locally owned

Alberta-based since day one. Decisions are made here by people who live in your community — not at a head office in another province.

Hand-matched caregivers

We match by personality, language, and need — and re-match at no cost if it isn't right. No anonymous rotating roster.

A real person answers

Call and you reach our team, not a phone tree or an overseas call centre. We answer live during care hours.

Care within 48 hours

Most families have care started within two days of their first call — often same-day for hospital discharges.

Not sure if a franchise or a local team is right for your family? The honest answer: for personalized, relationship-based home care, local almost always wins on responsiveness and continuity. We'll tell you plainly if we're not the right fit — and point you somewhere that is.
From the families we serve

Real stories from Alberta homes

When mom came home from the hospital, we were terrified. #1 Right Care met us that same afternoon, made a plan, and within two days had paired her with a caregiver who genuinely connects with her. We finally exhale at night.

Dad has dementia and we'd tried two other agencies. The difference here is the matching — they sent someone he actually likes. He looks forward to her visits now.

My husband qualified for CDHCI funding but I was lost in the AHS paperwork. They walked us through every step and started care the next week. Honestly a lifeline.

Common questions

Things families ask us most

How quickly can care start?
As quickly as your situation needs. For many families care begins within a day or two of the first call, and hospital-discharge situations are often same-day or next-day. Tell us your timeline when you call — we'll move as fast as we safely can.
Is care covered by Alberta Health Services?
If you're approved for CDHCI (Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing) through AHS, you can choose #1 Right Care as your provider and we bill AHS directly. Call 811 for an assessment, or call us and we'll walk you through it.
What if my loved one doesn't qualify for funding?
First, we'll help you check every funding option you may qualify for — for many families, government programs cover much or even all of their care. Where there's a gap, we offer private pay at transparent rates, and many families combine funded and private hours. Call us and we'll work out the most affordable path for your family.
How are caregivers chosen and matched?
Every caregiver is interviewed in person, reference-checked, criminal-record-checked, and trained before joining the team. Matching considers personality, language, schedule, and the specific care needs.
What happens if it's not a good fit?
Tell us. We'll talk it through and re-match — at no extra cost. A good match is the difference between getting through the day and feeling supported.
Do you offer overnight or 24/7 care?
Yes. We provide overnight presence, awake-overnight care, and full 24/7 care across all four service areas. Coverage is built into the schedule so there are no gaps.
